YOGA for Osteoporosis

In this Yoga for Osteoporosis series, there are no poses requiring forward flexion, lateral flexion or rotation. All of the poses have been modified to make them safe but effective!

There are six 30-minute classes and each has a specific focus allowing you to choose the one you need that day:

 

—Heart OpenersYoga for Osteoporosis

—Posture/Alignment

—Legs/Glutes

—Strong Stable Shoulders

—Core Power

—Inner Peace

 

Each class begins with a few minutes of flowing movement to build heat in the body and warm the muscles.

We then progress into holding several poses as part of our “work” phase.

We move on to holding poses as we shift our focus to developing length and flexibility. Each class ends with a few moments of quiet relaxation.

You will finish the session feeling calm, energized and focused.

About the Instructor!

Linda began working in the fitness industry in 1985. She became curious about teaching yoga, and while researching teacher training programs she discovered YogaFit. She was intrigued, as it was promoted as a more “fitness style” of yoga and decided to give it a try. After taking her first training, she knew she’d found the right program. She valued their emphasis on anatomy and proper body alignment, as well as being able to modify poses to make them more accessible to everyone. She has continued her training with them, completing their basic coursework as well as numerous specialty classes, such as Anatomy & Alignment, Seniors, Pre-natal, Props, Core Strength, Mood Balancing and PilatesFit, a blend of Yoga & Pilates.
